I live in the North and there is a weekly farmers market every Wednesday. They have one alley that is all plants,flowers and pots. It is about 200m from the Sijiaying subway station. :)

Went to Hei Long tan today, and although we left due to unrelenting rain, I think it would be a great place for toddlers. My little one loved it. As far as other "North attractions", we also did a little hike through Kunming Forest Park which was nice if you want a bit of solitude. YueYatan Park is really big and free (so extra points for that) it has pretty bridges to run across, fish feeding and lots of small and quiet paths through the vegetation. On one side it even has a tacky fairground with rides and arcade games. Worth look for sure!

I remember it being ridiculously high and I did check that the price was for 1 swim. The reception staff spoke English, but they could have made a mistake....

We asked the reception staff - it was something crazy like 250 RMB per swim !!

I bought a few with me that you could use, Ocean. Back home we re-use them a few times if they are clean, just hang it out like regular bathers. :) No toddler friendly pool suggestions - but would also been keen to hear suggestions!
