I am trying to find some brown rice but haven't been able to do so. My husband and I have been to a lot of vegetable market type things where there are a lot of options with rice and they are all white. Has anyone been able to find brown rice? If so, where? Thanks
This is our first Halloween in Kunming and I am wondering if there are any fun things for kids? My husband and I are only living in China for a short amount of time and so this may be our only Halloween in China and I would hate to miss out on something because I didn't know. So are there any fun things for families and children for Halloween?
@tigertiger: I haven't given my son beans yet, I have just kept him on fruit and vegetables so far. He has had a hard time when it comes to bowel movements so I am trying to get him on prunes or something, but I do want to try to give him some protein soon!
My husband and I recently moved to China and we have a 6 month old baby boy. We aren't comfortable feeding him any chicken or pork yet, but I do want him to get protein somehow so I thought of tofu. I was NOT a huge fan of tofu, I think living in the States where we don't know how to cook tofu and it's not the real stuff it has made me not like it, but since being here I have tried a few and it really isn't that bad! So for my son, what is the best tasting tofu to give him. I know NOTHING about tofu and so I'm not sure where to start in picking a good tasting one.

My husband and I are traveling to the Hot Springs this week and we are not sure if we should take the bus or a taxi. Which is easier/better with a 6 month old? I'm thinking that a taxi is about 100 Yuan and I've heard a bus is cheaper but will the bus take us straight to the hot springs or will we have to get a taxi from the bus station in Anning? Also what is a good hotel there? We want a nicer hotel.
