@Dudesons
You come out with stats saying how many friends been attacked since being in China but not to impressive overall simply for the fact that if you asked anyone in London if they'd been attacked at some point you'd nearly all the time get the answer 'YES'.
Still as others have mentioned feel sympathy for you seems as you was also with your pregnant woman which would of not been great experience at any point of pregnancy!
Trouble flares easy anywhere in the world on evenings out!!!

Culture - The way people go about daily lives and a bit of how they went about it in the past mixed in. Leads to a different way of doing things for me after a while.
Think I'd use 'civilization' differently for sure!

@Alien

Well had a pretty good reason to learn the language as gf from Kunming and although she speaks English her family don't, so gave me a reason to want to know the language and spend some time here enjoying the culture/area to :o)

Nobody else think bull fighting is an animal welfare problem such as other issues like dog eating festivals? Or is it because it's all steeped in nice looking traditional practices then it's OK?

I went there for a meal this week not expecting to much as I had been let down by every other western food restaurant that I'd tried. But I was surprised and ate a very enjoyable meal with a wide range of selections to choose from. I'm looking forward to going back as it has many Italian favourites of mine on the menu that I'm looking forward to eating :)

Definitely now my favourite western restaurant in Kunming!
