I have seen them new and 2nd hand in several weight classes 6-20kg at the secondhand market zhangguanying. The market is right at the 2nd ring on Puji road - get off bus 1 at the stop Yunnan Jiaotong College, cross the road and go down any alleyway (they all lead to the market). You can get anything there.
Geezer - the Harlem example does not fall short of establishing a proven fact. It is documented how the SOME OF THE blacks and the whites in Harlem conducted their separate economies in harmony. I was'nt around at the time, and you may say that one or a few examples don't make a case, but on a long enough timeline everyones survival rate drops to zero. This is not a case of defining the environment to suit the condition, but you're right in that I could have used slightly milder terms - it is not a universally proven fact. Neither is your or my existence, nor Schrödingers cat, if you want to stretch it. Though Smith does not specifically talk about free markets, he does talk extensively about subventionalism (i.e. the opposite), and one can subtract 1 from 11 and get...10 or 1 :) The liberties I take in my interpretations of Smith are no more liberal than the "flavour" added by the translation of Marx's work, I refer specifically to the negative intonation associated with the word "exploitation". I in no way blame capitalism "for the universally human propensity to stereotype and pigeonhole other humans"" - its the LACK of it that I blame! Take the case of the discriminated black/yellow/red teachers. I would say, if the boss wants a white face - Great! Let him have it! The reason he wants a white face is not relevant to my theory, which is that pretty soon some mom will say to her neighbour, "hey, guess what, I was kinda broke last semester so I was forced to hire a black/red/yellow tutor, and my kid got A grades!". The market in my hypo case, moms, will soon come to realise as a group that black/red/yellow teachers are just as good as whites/blues/greens, causing prices, conditions, and respect to approach equilibruim. Another theory, this time a bit more far-fetched, is that by forcing the employer to consider other races than the one he actually wants, he may get the idea that the white face is harder to get hold of, thus it must be someway better. I say let folks do what they want, and soon enough they will learn from their mistakes, if they are indeed mistakes. So what do y'all think are the chances of Britain benefitting from these events? What works for/against them? Certainly looks like the Great Britain events are being boycotted by the local britons...seems to me a bad sign if they cant even try to build relations with their own landsmen and women.
Well if it tastes good and might even do you some good, why not? The soup in the picture looks pretty tasty to me.
About tcm vs western drugs. Have any of you seen the VOLUME of tcm drugs people get? People are literally filling shopping bags at the tcm pharmacies.
As for western meds - i saw a docu which showed that for several drugs, the capsule itself was more beneficial tjan the actual drug inside :) Point 2 about western drugs: theres up to 6000% difference between the cost to produce and the price on the shelf. Whacked out.
Excellent. Everything you want is here, almost..new and used. Plenty of curiosity items, nostalgia, fakes, practical household items, bikes and e-bikes, tools, clothing, furniture etc. I was looking for a cheap portable DVD player but though there were plenty available, they were at best "last years model" ie too bulky.
Easy to spend a half day here, i dont feel like i got treated as a rich laowai i.e. first prices quoted were not outlandish, and the only problem was a lack of food options. Also - little or no putonghua here.
I disagree with the article on two points: 1. Its very taxi-friendly, or at least not worse than anyplace else i've been. Lots of empty taxis pass by (if you walk to the road, of course) 2.i thought it very easy to find and is on google maps.
Nice atmosphere and cosy but the western food is bad. I think they deep-fry the burgers. As a cafe - 4 stars (service is a little bit lacking at times), coffee and cakes etc are good. As a restaurant, 2 stars (western food is too bad, asian food is mamahuhu).
"All the Meat" only had about 3 slices of salami on it, so maybe i got the wrong order. Anyway, leaving that aside - soggy bread, ketchup as tomatosauce, and cheese was probably from a tube.
Potato wedges soggy as well.
I left half my meal, the only thing up to scratch was the coke and the service. Will not be back.
If the name of the shop is written in english then they should speak english, yes! A pokey shithole trying to give the impression of a quaint li'l ole bookshop. Pig-ignorant staff, never been greeted with a smile there, nor even greeted. If you must shop here, bring your own bag. 1 star earned for selection and the (for me) convenient location.

New taxi placards target 'civility'
发布者Hm ok banning cars won't work. How about a toll? Many countries and cities have done it - and by the way a discount for eco-friendly cars.
