You should read it well: The Chinese government bans it on "its computers". That is not a ban on the product itself. Every self-respecting government (and company and institution etc) should have a proper IT policy and stick to that and don't go with the latest fashion. So I don't see anything strange in this.

Diffence is that people are willing to pay for oil and not for water. If water was as profitable as oil everybody would pipe it.

发布者Steel and aluminum can be reused by melting it down again. This takes quite some energy and will create quite some pollution of the burning paint and plastic parts but especially the rubber tires which are not removed from the bricked up MoBikes in one of the pictures.
Indeed cycling looks to be less environmentally friendly if it goes this way. The electronics in these bikes contain lead-tin solder and copper and the material from which the battery is made all ending up as waste.
