Forums > Living in Kunming > Fake Ikea store C'mon, whatever you buy in China - consider it a copy of what ever!!!
The Int. media is treating this, as if it was a store opend last week - it has been operating, without NO outcries since '08 or '09...
So can you all relax for a second and just enjoy, that somebody is willing to ake the "risk" and make a "franshice" - that's obviusly is going well.?
For my part: Yes I like 11 Furniture - nice, usually have what I miss - and to a bit cheeper price...
Forums > Food & Drink > Vietnamese 'Pho' Noodles? anywhere? What kind of "fish sauce"??
There are a big varaity in the "import sections" of the supermarkets - try Parkson's, METRO, Carrefour, WallMart.
Have seen quite a few brands, but never bought any - and I know you don't mean "oyster sauce" - right?!

Forums > Living in Kunming > Rain Rain Rain Well... Ahem...
According to China Daily - the government has actually taking credits for the rain...
They say it was a great success and they will continue their success for the next 10 days ;)
It has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with nature...!
Forums > Living in Kunming > Visa extensions/changes Hi!
I just picked up my visa-extension today, no problem at all, I handed it in last friday, and the cost was 160RMB.
You go to the Visa-office, fill in the form, glue on your pas photo and get a yellow reciet, taht tells the date of pick-up and the price. Keep it and bring it with you when you pick up your new visa!
For some reason it takes 7 days in Kunming, where you can get the same extension in 20-30 min. in Dali, Lijiang or Shangri-La - and for the same price...
You can get 2x30 days extensions - no problem, and for 160Rmb each.
