Hilarious. People quoting the law as their personal bible when it suits them. Laws have been created by people. No person is flawless. Many laws have been created in different times, circumstances and social environments.

Geezer now quoting the law and referring to long gone moments belonging to history books as if they would apply to any time in any future (or the now) does justify Flatus' question "So you are a fan of slavery too?"

Many laws are arbitrary and outdated, no matter how hard you cling on to them when they happen to suit your mood.

It might be time to admit that you guns holding on to your guys probably in most cases has little to do with self-defense. Perhaps you're equating the size of your gun (or car for that matter) to your manhood...? Try to develop some character instead. Character goes a long way.

Flatus: I fully agree, but you should know that logic / sensible arguments vs blind (nearly religious) fanaticism is pointless.

Legally selling tools that are merely designed to kill can't really be justified. Period.

"When you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns." Most of the 'outlaws' having guns when there's no legal place to buy them will be part of organized crime. No individual with a shotgun will be able to fight off those groups anyway. It will also be easier to identify criminals with guns, as people with guns are violating the law without exception.

Americans feeling they have to arm themselves against the government – just in case – might want to reconsider their voting patterns or move to a country where they will feel safer.

In many countries guns are a rarity as there are no legal means to acquire them. The chance that some crazy guy will start shooting around then becomes diminishable. Banning guns in only a few states in a country where one can travel freely is pointless of course. One can just buy it in one state and carry it to the next for private use or to illegally sell them to others. If it has to be imported from other countries at least it will be harder to smuggle into the country.

For those who believe they should be allowed to have guns because it's their 'right' (whatever that means) I have no words. Should I be allowed to have nuclear warheads because I think they nicely decorate my garden? I know that's not what they're made for, but I hope you guys don't carry guns for the purpose of shooting at people either.

Today I happened to see a sad and bitter character walk down Wenhua Xiang. I imagined he was probably looking for a McDonalds or Burger King to save himself from having to eat anything that could possibly challenge his taste buds – flavours that he decided at young age belonged to the evil cuisine home to the place he'd later live in to supply himself with an easier life, find a wife half his age and whine about everything unfamiliar. Rants that even his better half – native to the place he chose to live in – had to accept as unchallenged truths.

I'm not a fan of any deliberate show of wealth, but there's more worthwhile things to spend one's time on. Well, provided that one's life does involve anything worthwhile to begin with.

What's worse though is that some believe that their personal preference and cultural background are superior over those of others. If we all would feel this way and vent this at any given opportunity – this world would truly be a sad place.

That's a fantastic idea, crazy! Where are you going to leave all the violent people around the globe? Or you didn't get beyond the idea to "exile" people, so we just keeps pushing across borders?

Last night was rather unique. There's always fights in all places with a high concentration of drunk people (and Kundu happens to be the place where nearly all the clubs are), but this was a surprisingly large and cheerful crowd gathering around the two overexcited boys.

Still looked a lot more civilized than the average confrontation between hooligans back in Europe.

I'm curious what people have against Chengdu. Not a place to go for the weather if that's the only thing you care about, but otherwise definitely one of my personal favorites. The reason the city is growing so fast could very well be because it offers good opportunities and has great city planning. The relation with money doesn't have to be that simplistic.

Will definitely try out a few of the mentioned restaurants this month. Eager to find some alternative restaurants for a more diverse dining experience.

Can I assume that generally wild vegetables are completely organic? In this case meaning that there's no chemicals (and other unwanted substances) applied before they reach shops and restaurants.

The environment is fairly nice, with a great location right above the development where Turtle is located, but it yet seems like another gym where the investor doesn't really understand even the basics of running a gym.

The space is fairly small, making it extremely crowded in evenings, they require you to buy 7 yuan water bottles instead of offering free drinking water (expensive and not very environmentally friendly) and on top of that they run out of hot shower water almost every evening. Their answer to this is that it's a gym, not a spa.

Unfortunately, they do not offer refunds on their cards. The manager also refuses to give the contact information of the boss, probably to make sure they won't be able to hear any of the complaints.

On top of this, the staff seems to be rather clueless and gives conflicting answers to the same questions depending on who you ask, including the manager lying about him being the boss.

The whole place is one big disappointment, unfortunately.
