The International Driving Licence is a translation of an existing recognised driving licence. Foreign driving licences are not accepted in China, and nor is a IDL. If you have a foreign driving licence and have driven in the last three years, then you only need to pass a theory test to get a Chinese Driving Licence, but if you have no driving licence you will probably need to go thorough all the same hoops as a Chinese person wanting to drive here. Hi All,
Can anyone recommend a safe, robber-free, good quality bus from Kunming to LiJiang? I don't want to be robbed again, like last time, and I don't want to face the LiJiang Bus baggage thug who operates at the Kunming bus station targeting Westeners, nor do I want to sold high price tickets for a really crap cheap coach, just because the bus company staff can get away with it with Waigouren.
Any advice is appreciated.

Hi Folks,
Vintage Cafe is on Wen Lin Jie, and use to have a very good menu (like European salads). They have recently been refurbished, and had a new menu. However, the staff there said they do not do food any more. My Chinese is very poor, so I could not find out if this is temporary and permininate change. Does anyone know more details?

Hi. Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement mosquito lamp bulb..the long, blue glowing, type?

I bought the complete lamp and bulb at Walmart, but they do not appear sell replacment bulbs, nor does Carafour, Metro or any of the chinese shops that sell replacement bulbs I have tried.

Is there a special street or shop in Kunming where I could go to try?
