Forums > Study > scholarships in 2011

Hi,

I'd like to gain a scholarship at one of Kunming's universities for 2011 and I'm pretty confused about my options and chances of success. I've got a Bachelor degree (not in Mandarin) and can speak at a beginner level after spending one semester at KCELC in 2009.

I see there is this whole Confucious Institute thing but heard about another offered by the Yunnan universities.

Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks.

Forums > Living in Kunming > Kunming is awesome

Couldn't agree more. But the discontent on here is far from representative. Forums generally are an outlet for whingers. Most people who love Kunming either aren't reading this or can't be bothered engaging in discussion with people holding such a negative-Nancy view.

If it's not for you - move on! But if you can't enjoy life in Kunming you'll probably struggle even more elsewhere.

加油whingers!

Have been to Jia's Jia's place about two dozen times. Love the pizzas, especially the blue cheese one. The staff have always been nice and attentive. The yoghurt with honey is a must! A very quaint place. Perfect to get away from the bustle of Wenhua Xiang and Wenlin

Jie. I often take visiting family and friends here. It's also a good place to practice your Mandarin.

I spent three nights at Chongzijia last month.

The rooms are new, clean and full of natural light. The beds are really comfortable! The bathroom was also fine and had all the amenities.

Good and quiet location hidden off a sidestreet (not too difficult to find). Only about two minutes walk to the main streets.

Michele and Libby were fantastic hosts. Libby's mother is a great cook and it was also a pleasant surprise to be treated to some real Italian cuisine.
