@Napolean Back home I wouldn't care whether the beef was halal or not. However here in China food safety is a concern. Either they inject water into the beef to give it more weight, or spray food colouring or other chemicals onto the beef to give it a redder colour.
Regardless, I have just found from experience that buying beef from the muslims in China has resulted in me getting better quality meat, and far less likelyhood of getting diarrhoea.
The amount of times I've gotten sick from dodgy food in China far exceeds the amount of times I've gotten sick in my life before coming to China.
I'm sure you all know the food hygeine and safety is a big issue here, I have tried to just minimise the risks when making a food product.
I'm not muslim nor support their faith, I just like the quality of beef they provide.
In order to be certified Halal it has to meet certain standards to be certified, which back home would mean a better quality and cleaner meat. However here in China that could mean nothing.
Having said that I have found a good beef supplier, that I am very happy with, who seems to have very good hygiene standards. However being China that's still no guarantee. I maintain a high hygeine standard and to date, neither myself nor any of my clients I have sold to have gotten sick from the biltong.
@Dozky Hey. Yeah my biltong is made according to a traditional recipe with ingredients all sourced in China. Only halal beef is used to limit issues with food safety.
Currently I have none to sell, but I do have a batch drying which should be ready in a day or so.
Biltong sells at 280RMB/kg for whole pieces, and 300RMB/kg for sliced (sold as 50g and 100g packs). All vacuum sealed for freshness.
If you or anyone else would like biltong you can call/add me on wechat with the following number: 183 1399 3274. Please state when adding me that you'd like biltong so I accept your wechat request.
My name is Shaun.
@Cdnluck I sent you a PM with my contact details.

A quick guide to Kunming's Metro Line 2
发布者Useful article, I see you made mention of the bus and metro cards not being interchangeable. It would be great once more info on this is available that the article be updated. I was actually going to ask if the current bus cards could be used with the metro, as there is a picture of the metro on the card.
As a side note, the pictures are great, but on Firefox they cut into the text on the right, obscuring it. i.e. the classifieds and the comments section on the right of the page. Just thought I would mention this.
