I want to send a big iron box and a bag back to France containing personnal stuff (around 200 kg). I prefer the sea as I am not in a hurry.
Does anyone knows a shipping company reliable and cheap in Kunming ? Any experience already ?
I studied in SFL almost half a year and I think the school is definitely to be recommended
First of all the teacher is well qualified and speaks a good Mandarin. The progression is well balanced and not to heavy so we progress at a slow and good pace. But the thing I enjoyed the most was the use of the new technologies. A big video screen served to the weakly lessons in order to study the new "hanzi", the vocabulary as well as some contextual dialogue for the grammar. And most of all, I had the chance, when I could not attend physically to the class, to do distance learning. I was in Hong-Kong and I did the class on line with my teacher in Kunming !
Well I guess this message will be CENSORED as I copied the content of a forum I launched yesterday about SFL and distance learning. Chris decided to CENSOR it giving the controversy reason it was an add.
Very funny when you read their massive advertisement for Sal… (this time I CENSOR myself ha ha) & Co. as well as their close friends.
Very sad and even pathetic when you think about some Western behavior and decision in terms of management in China. I do sometimes fully understand some Chinese citizens and leaders, hating to receive lessons from the Westerners about free expression and human rights. After 3 years in China and different kinds of working experiences I must admit the worst boss I had was French. A real "dictator" who would never have behaved this way in France, taking advantage of his position in a developing country. I do regret this kind of smooth "dictatorial" gokunming management (and this is not the first time) and wish more competition for gokunming to improve and give a better image of Western management to Chinese people.
After a successful teaching experience at SFL, I would like to share my experience as student within this school.
I studied there almost half a year and I have to say it changed a lot from other not very professional situation. Although the school is small (quickly getting bigger) and starting since September, it is definitely to be recommended.

We used skype and the white board. It was a new attractive way to study the "hanzi" and Chinese !
Has anyone experienced distance learning by studying Chinese ? Which tools did you use?
We use the book "Short term Spoken Chinese (vol.2)" and also a little "intensive reading" to learn the hanzi. They are both available at madarin bookstore in wenhua xiang.
I have just started a Chinese class (we are 2 in the class) with an excellent qualified and experienced teacher.
2 classes a week, Monday and Wednesday from 16h00 to 18h00. The session will end on the 13th of January 2010.
The level is closer to intermediate than to beginner and the place of the class near dongfeng square, in the office/classroom of the teacher well equipped with TV and computer.
The price is 35 rmb for an hour and cheaper (30 rmb) if 2 or 3 students join but the class is limited to 5 students.
Welcome to my Chinese class !
Bienvenue dans ma classe de chinois !
Herzlich Wilkommen zu meiner Chinesischen Klasse !
