Forums > Living in Kunming > jobs at international high schools There's only one international high school in Kunming, KIA ( www.kia-china.org/careers/ ).
There are a couple home schooling type schools too, but they aren't that big.
Kunming has several "prep" schools. Though most just focus on preparing for tests.
Some of the high schools have an international program. Where they study an alternative curriculum along with the Chinese one. For example from Canada. Your best bet is just to go there in person. Find the foreign director/relations and talk to them directly. Online and over the phone communication and/or some sort of organized HR department is basically non-existent in Kunming.
Forums > Study > Which University Chinese language program? There's limited information because they're all equally bad. Not to say you won't learn, but you're pretty much guaranteed 1950's style language learning. You may get lucky by having a good teacher, but don't count on it.
Forums > Living in Kunming > Accessing Gmail GMail usually works ok without a vpn. Chat, and just about everything else google will be painfully slow sometimes, or just quit working without it.
Also, without a VPN you can't access other countries Google Play Store. The apps in China's store is far far fewer.
Forums > Study > where can i buy hsk books? 清华书屋 Tsinghua Book House
中国云南省昆明市五华区一二一大街308号

I haven't been there for over a year, but last time went there they had a dedicated section for foreigners learning Chinese.
If you're not in any hurry though ordering on dangdang.com or amazon.cn is a nicer alternative. Both have pay on delivery service and books are usually delivered within a week.
Forums > Living in Kunming > iPhone plan cost I think Elisa is referring to the fact that China Mobile's 3G has "special characteristics" which traditionally has made it incompatible with most international phones. For example I know the US version of the iPhone doesn't support 3G on China Mobile. This is also the reason you see many special China Mobile versions in China.
If you're from the US think of Verizon... they do everything they can to sell their own "crappy/special" version of phones.
Kunming cracking down on 'uncivilized' behavior...again
发布者The traffic police will be the ones smoking in the corner and spitting.... while the cars will be parked down the center of the street, and cars going down the wrong way because they can't turn left due to said cars in the middle of the street.
Just saw it this week on a road just off of Beijing Lu.

Government undertaking aims to flush Dianchi clean
发布者Last time I checked heavy pollutants can't be "flushed" clean. The title should be related to this: "the effort is expected to provide Kunming with another source of water in times of drought as well as generate hydropower."
Beijing Lu road construction to last nine more months
发布者And they can move the bus stops into the bike lines like all the newly redone streets and free up two more lanes on Beijing Lu..... it's working so well. I heard the hospitals love it.
