Just reviewed it on Google:
This is my restaurant of choice in the north of Kunming. The food is delicious and healthy. Why? Because the choice of ingredients. The choice of vegetables is remarkably unique, and they go to some very specific markets to get them. I have no problem ordering 80% wild vegetables in all the dishes of the meal. They are very open-minded for preparing suggestions, and will combine stuff whenever you think it will taste nice. Only with the wild mushrooms they'll refrain from this obviously. They have plaques on the walls saying: "We prefer to handle natural food in the traditional way to get optimal taste and think it is unnecessary to use chemical taste enhancers. We don't use MSG!" Salt is used sparingly, the chillies can all be left out and they serve you free home made kimchi and apple vinegar for every meal. Service is very attentive and friendly. Plates are almost oil-free after you finish a dish. Cold beer is available. Talk to the chef, he's a very nice guy. And get the small potatoes. And the home made peanut soup.
Yunnan reopens 13 international border crossings
发布者Yes, to be honest, this is highly confusing information.
Yunnan's Stone Treasure: Shibao Mountain
发布者Yes, sure, I agree with your second point, but you need time and not many people have/take enough time to travel these days.
About walkability, it's possible to walk up to the Shizong temple, see all the grotto's and walk back to Shaxi through different routes, totally possible and I'd recommend that if you have more than 1 day.
But if you also want to see the Baoxiang temple and the Haiyun temple on the same day, that would not be possible on foot. That means you have to take the car and go in reverse direction, so first visit those temples, have a car waiting, have lunch when you come down, take the car to Shizhong temple to see the grotto's and walk down to Shaxi.
And then it's a matter of knowing the right trails, but that just takes some practicing and wondering around, or again, taking a good guide if you don't have time.
There are a lot of interesting walking possibilities, I've even heard that there's a trail connecting to the one to Misha, but I've never actually found it.

发布者Yes, please ignore my advice if you want to.
I do have pretty valid reasons to give the advice, though. I've visited this place more than 10 times, both professionally and personally. Because I had this privilege, I've managed to map out the perfect route. That took me quite a bit. I've walked from Shaxi, I've walked from the other side, and I ended up wasting a lot of time. That's why I advise people to take a van, because the distance between the places is not walkable in one day.
You see, some people who read this might only have 1 day to get the most out of their day on Shibaoshan. That's why I think it's relevant to give this advice.
But if you don't like planning and are annoyed by people planning a perfect route, or want to get the most out of their trip, then please don't get a guide, don't do research, don't prepare, and don't listen to my advice.
But I think it's relevant advice for other people, that's why I spent my time giving it.
Yunnan's Stone Treasure: Shibao Mountain
发布者Very nice informative article! Thanks.
If you visit Shibao mountain you should plan well, or get yourself a good guide. Renting a van for the day is an absolute must. First visit Huayun and Baoxiang temple and then take the car to Shizong temple and walk back to Shaxi from there. It took me quite a while to figure out a "perfect route" through the Shibao mountain area.
