I've had dried and liquid foods both in plastic and glass containers shipped into China from the US without any problem (except during the Olympics last year). I assume it would be okay to do the reverse, but I don't know.

If you're a native English speaker and have ESL teaching experience, you can easily make a comfortable living here in KM. If you're not picky about what kind of students you teach or what kind of school you teach in, your options are limitless.
To qualify as a "foreign expert" and teach in university, you technically do need a bachelor's degree, and training in linguistics and teaching experience also will help. But supply and demand seems to be real law of the land. Even here in Kunming, one of the most desirable Chinese cities for expats, the supply of dedicated (not to say formally qualified) teachers is insufficient. You might have noticed the proliferation of want ads for such teachers on this site. Search for ESL jobs in China and you'll find a million more.
Right now is the hiring season for the 2009-2010 academic year. If you're looking to teach in a uni, you'd better get on it. Otherwise, opportunities pop up all the time, and freelance tutoring work is always available.
Unless you have a formal invite from a school, you'll probably have to enter China on a tourist visa and then find a legit (i.e. tax-paying) school that can get you a work visa.
If you're looking for something that intensive you might consider moving in with a Chinese family for the duration of your stay. Just make sure you inquire about Putonghua (Mandarin) and Kunminghua, the local dialect that most families speak at home.
Thanks everyone for your help with this topic. I appreciate it!
@ DanTheMan:
Relax, man. "2" suffices as a word in this context. You didn't have any trouble interpreting it, did you? Or the "@" at the beginning of my post? ;)
Anyway, predictordom, you could be a little clearer about the services you're offering. Is it something like shaking sticks out of a tin can?

Kunming residents rally against chemical plant
发布者Kudos to Gokunming for speaking to participants and reporting on this incident. And even more kudos to the protesters who took the time, made the effort, and were undeterred from speaking truth to power.
Videos: Clique and Gangnam Style by The Dangsters
发布者Gangnam style with Kunming touches. Signing the busker's guitar was hilarious enough to have been in the original video. Nicely done.
By the way, I couldn't find you in there, Sandy. Too many great dancers.
