Forums > Living in Kunming > Building supplies market?

Also a B&Q in the east near the botanical gardens and next to one of the other bird and flower markets (which is worth a visit anyway). Forget the name of the road, but you can take the 69 bus south on Dongfangxi lu (right near the corner of wenlinjei). Take it right to the end of the line and walk back about 1 block. Its on the corner of a big intersection. Takes about 40min to get out there i think (depending on traffic).

I had a similar problem before. I think I found a "forgot your password" option and they email a new password. Then can continue setting up the account.

I just heard that work visa are no longer multi-entry. If you leave the country, even for just a short time, then your visa will be cancelled.

This is what I have heard. If anyone has any more USEFUL information regarding this...

It seems they are tightening up on all visas

Hi Allen

I worked with the Red Cross a few years ago so I can tell you they are definitely up there with regards to how much donated money gets to the victims. Red Cross first aid training pretty much covers the cost of admin and the likes, so most of what is donated gets to the people in need.

You also have to think about how the money gets from you into the food and provisions needed. It takes a lot of work to be done effectively.

As an example, after the boxing day tsunami someone organized a shipping container load of blankets and clothing while avoiding using an NGO. The result was a container on the beach that got flooded with the tide, resulting in clothing and blankets ruined and floating around in the sea.
