"from today, electric bikes carrying people, riding in the car lane..." etc., etc.
Presumably any electric bikes which are not carrying people, but just cruising around by themselves with no rider can go where they like then?

Sounds like a great idea!
With no electic bikes, the cars and buses will be able to go much faster in the cycle lanes than they do already, thus improving everybody's quality of life.
Plus, for every electric bike taken off the road, that will be two more adults and one more child on a bus - the extra company bus passengers will have is sure to make for a more sociable experience.
As an added spin-off, perhaps more people will buy cars, and the extra pollution will help keep out those harmful solar rays which people in other cities don't have to put up with.
Hurrah for common sense!
Thanks Zlif! We went today. It was great fun - as soon as everyone saw the Waiguoren everything went completely mental - two of us against about 150 local people. The Dai certainly know how to put on a water fight. Definitely recommended!
Does anyone know if the Dai water splashing festival is being celebrated at the Minorities Village again this year, and if so, when? It was great fun last year.
Thanks!
Probably Metro or another big supermarket. Some local shops at the south end of 1-2-1 have some but they're very expensive compared to Metro.
