Shuhe ancient town is a nice place to visit, indeed.
If you got time, you can also travel around Shaxi area.

You may take the bus, or rent a car to Shilin. If you have the Chinese driving license, you can drive yourself, or else you will need a driver, fee is about 500-600RMB.
