Love this place. One of the best hidden gems in Kunming. The food is all clean and locally sourced and made with creativity and care. The building is interesting and if weather is good sitting outside is awesome. The homemade tofu skin is to die for as well as most of the other dishes on the menu. They also have a lot of very interesting seasonal specials that keep things interesting. Word on the street is that they aren't doing super well these days though. I hope this old favorite gets a new wave of love!

I go to Tusheng 2-3 times a month. It is consistently excellent and the staff have improved their level of service dramatically since it first opened. Proper food and a great atmosphere.

Five stars for the food. Go with Yereth's recommendations, plus any vegetable the waitress says is fresh.

Beware that Xue Fu lu is one way, so many taxis have to take a roundabout way to get here.

Was here again last night and had a great meal as usually. Easily one of my favourite restaurants in town. Definite recommendations include any variation of their stir-fried rice-cake (饵块, erkuai) and tofu skin (腐竹, fuzhu) dishes.

Greatly appreciated as well are their efforts to serve clean, organic food.

Very delicious, though a bit pricey (perhaps 45-60 per person depending on how much meat you want). Considering it's all top-notch organic ingredients, I still think it's a 5 stars in value.
