@mPRin
Yeah, the G7 sachets are good for instant and not Nestle ripoff pricing. In Vietnam they use two sachets for half a cup! Must admit, tasted even better. If you ever pass through Nanning, there is a G7 owned cafe.
@mike_4g_air, where do you get the raw coffee beans from?
didn't know they could be roasted in a microwave. that's interesting.
Mc Cafe has really a great espresso, one of the best you can find in Kunming (in my opinion).
However their Cappuccino is very bad.
If you want to find more particular, albeit more expensive, coffe beans, with a very competent boss go to Lanyard Coffee in the north.
Little Brother Coffee Bar (also for tea, fruit juices and smoothies) is behind Vervo. Nice bright seating and wifi.
Hey everyone thanks so much for your help. After a few months of searching I have found two places in this city that offer some amazing coffee.
One is called Liang You and it is in th Bei chen complex behind the swimming pool. It is a tiny place with no atmosphere at all since it is more of a roasting place than a cafe. The owner is an artist with his roasting and loves coffee as much as anyone I know and I have been in the coffee industry for several years. He does not do espresso drinks, only single origins from all over the world so don't go there looking for a Carmel latte or anything like that. If you want beans to brew at home this is the place hands down. His number is 13888106586
The other place with really good coffee is the elephant bar book store behind Mazagrands or whatever that place is called. It is half underground and the honest I was not expecting much since most book store cafe suck bewand words but this place it great both from a coffee quality perspective and a super chill place to hang out and read or get some work done. They have a wide variety of both single origin coffees and very good quality espresso.
I hope everyone can check these two places out and support folks who are trying hard to bring us drinkable coffee in kunming.
Nice finds. Thanks
