honestly there are two things i hate. the thiefs on busses (this week ive had my iphone 5s stolen, and my backpack cut open) the other thing is taxi drivers, i always add 5 yuan to the cost of baidu maps but its getting crazy to the point where a 20yuan ride cost 40 after their "required" tip.
Wow.. that sucks about you getting robbed! Thankfully i have never had that happen... yet. I'll be more careful. Thanks for the heads up.
I honestly dont know what this required tip is. Can you please explain.
''Robin who I didn't see for more than a week''
@Johannes: Yeah, i'm so broke this month :'(
I miss you guys...
hfcampo if you use the apps its usually 5 yuan. if its more than that and you fight it they will say the ticket machine is broken. they will argue with you and say they will call the police. this happened to me a few nights ago. i double paid and left, since money is nothing compared to the hours wasted at a police station. ( 2 hours min). mprin, please be careful. keep expensive things in hand, if its a crowded bus wait for the next bus. NEVER confront a thief if you catch them. many chinese will say to grab them and call the police, do not do that. accept the lose, most of the thiefs are from a small village and work in groups.
if you use the apps its usually 5 yuan. - ok - I am still confused and I have no idea what this means - what apps? What tip?
Also, if the driver says that his ticket machine is broken - Do you mean his meter is broken?
these apps have been discussed in other threads youve posted in. you know what im talking about。the meter dispenses the tickets, so not having ink, or paper is normal. ill tribute this post to being senile.
According to Chapter 3, Article 17 (3) and Article 20 (2), the driver must give you a receipt. The passenger can refuse to pay if he does not receive a receipt.

滴滴打车 - Di Di Da Che - I will have to ask my wife about this - I guess this is more technology that makes people more useless then they already are. Some people can not find their way back home without GPS and a Google map.
With all the people on the road, will a taxi driver pass by potential passengers to go find someone with Didi? Especially during rush hour?
"NEVER confront a thief if you catch them. many chinese will say to grab them and call the police, do not do that. accept the lose, most of the thiefs are from a small village and work in groups."
Why? That makes no sense.
what law has ever been enforced in china. i see people smoking and driving daily. youre all about what people experienced not hearsay. there are 3 apps for taxis. ive never in the 8 years ive been here had troubles getting in a taxi. the trouble arrives at the destination. this is 2 out of 15. even chinese experience this and complain.
