Did anyone see this?
I was just reading about this as I was eating a big bowl of greasy noodles with 3 different kinds of red peppers.
HFCAMPO, this is pretty serious issue, so no need to go on and on with the stuff from other threads.
@HFCAMPO Ha..ha. touche!
The economy is gonna take a serious hit that's for sure!
This is OLD news - As old as the repetitive food threads on GK.
The coup follows months of political turmoil in Thailand.
The army has staged at least 11 coups since the end of the absolute monarchy in 1932.
The latest unrest began in the Thai capital late last year, when then-Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra dissolved the lower house of parliament.
Thailand has faced a power struggle since Ms Yingluck's brother, Thaksin Shinawatra, was ousted by the military as prime minister in 2006.
Glad I didn't book that trip now, very unstable area!
was planning on having honeymoon in thailand next month but not a good time me thinks....
HFCAMPO, this particulr coup happened yesterday, I believe. It is not old news. It was important enough to make BBC world news.
Can not go to Vietnam.
Can not go to Thailand.
My friend went to live in Cambodia with his chinese wife. Chinese citizens can get a 3 month, 6 month, or 1 year visa in Cambodia without any problems. Dont even have to go to an embassy, it can be done at any of the many visa offices in town.
The coups in Thailand occur as often as the food threads in GK.
Ha.Ha.
Sometimes I feel that I'm on the food network. Jeez!
This news is everywhere, not need to repeat it here, unless you know something we don't.
@Redjon: go ahead & have your honeymoon, none of this will affect you or anybody else other than some Thai activists. UNless you want to make a political point, of course - but I, for one, can't think of what point I might want to make.
