Find a part time job

ANDY.F (15 posts) • 0

hi everyone, I'm an italian girl and I'm about to finish my third year of university and by november I would like to come to kunming. I wanted to know if and where do I have to look to find a job which aldready provides the work visa ( so I don't have to make another request when I arrive). I have to say that I have studied chinese and english for three years and have spent 4 months in Bejing, would this be relevant to an eventual hiring manager? sorry, so many questions -.-'

as I know with the new law have to have at least two years experience in the job you are applying for the visa.

Maybe any body have more fresh information than me?

In theory you are supposed to have two years experience (at least for teachers) but in reality many companies are willing to take fresh graduates.

@Andy.F You can place an ad in the classifieds section on this site, telling a little bit about yourself and explaining what job you are looking for. I think you can attach your CV. Then if an employer is interested, they will get back to you.

Good luck!

I'm asking this beacuse in Beijing there were many students who worked part time as english teachers, also for primary school, without experience and certifications

Like alpage48 I think you talk about these illegal worker.

The time of these illegal worker should be over soon as china is tired to get that kind of unqualified and illegal teacher and also worker and school don't pay tax from the salary they pay.

I heard a lot of story about that kind of teacher and I am sorry for you but for the people who are qualified is really unfair that people can get the same salary just because of their white face

In Chengdu I have a Chinese friend work as English teacher in a primary school ; 6 day a week 8 to 10 hours per day for 3500 ¥

Same school, a foreigner teacher from Germany...... Teach English 5 day a week 5 to 6 hours a day and get free accommodation, free meal at lunch time and big help for visa. This teacher don't have experience. Just are white......

Here in Yunnan, you really don't need any qualifications to be a part time teacher. Sadly, for those that are qualified, being white is often the only 'qualification' you need.

@Maxinchina The only people i see as really ''qualified'' are those with a teaching degree from back home. Is someone with a degree in say, basket weaving, any more qualified to teach than someone with no degree? I don't think so.

I believe the requirement is "relevant degree" plus a TEFl-type qualification, which would suggest a minimum level of proficiency.
