Forums are quickly deteriorating

There are a tiny number of posters, or currently possibly just one with multiple identities, who seek to dominate the entire forum. It seems their daily goal is to get a full house (their name on all five threads in the side-bar). They are self-serving and as one person has put it these egotists make others feel: "frustrated, saturated, tired, overwhelmed, or just plain sick of (your) endless ranting". Yes they could be ignored, but then how do you ignore the noisy spoilt little brat that's allowed to run around the room causing havoc. Yes they have the right, but then others have the right to a bit of peace and quiet. Just a little respite now again would be appreciated. Some users have little time to spend on here and it can seem like reading one of those free local newspapers full of advertisements (for the self promoting egotist) and you have to search through for the newsworthy fresh stuff. Perhaps they could have their own 'nursery'; the ninth menu item after 'contact' at the top of the page where they can run around and play.

There are people that babble way too much in way too many threads (like me).

But there are also a whole lotta folks without a goddamn interesting thing on their minds besides where to locate a burger.

That's another form of deterioration, isn't it?

And also .... isn't expecting the forum to be exactly what YOU want it to be another form of egotism?

And on that note, R.I.P. Magnifico.

I think there are three or four angry, miserable expats, who get furious if anyone actually asks them to defend their misery. If one has some sort of problem with someone else disagreeing with one's worldview, than one is rather thin-skinned, isn't one?

Toss in a gastronomic expat nut who goes crazy when anyone express a liking for something he/she deem as inferior or low-quality food then it sounds about right.

LOL

Tonyaod, I do not go crazy when people like or dislike things. I do get a bit worked up, though, when people state their strong opinions (as we all do). Is that so wrong?

Your response to other people's strong opinion is to express your own opposite strong opinion which leads to another "angry, miserable" expat to respond strongly with their own strong opinion.....when will the cycle end? Stop the violence, just say no!

LOL
