Is there a map online anywhere which shows the destroyed area of Zhongdian? A list of businesses which are still going concerns? I imagine that, for example, Sean's No. 2 Cafe is defunct, but what about the Raven? Or Noah Cafe and Inn? and so on.

They are all gone. 70% of old town burnt down. Everything around the square and all buildings heading uphill are just burnt out brick piles now. Only a handful of hostels and bars toward the back lower parts were left untouched. Its miraculous how those were left untouched and buildings across were vaporized. I don't think Noah was inside old town. Businesses just outside old town if closed, are due to low season or other reasons not fire related.
If you follow Jeff Fuchs on facebook, he posted a pic a few days ago of the temple and the nothingness all around. There are so many places I planned to visit there this summer, and they are gone. My 2 homes, AFAIK, somehow survived. But a map? I doubt it. I don't think a map of it existed while it was whole. It changed constantly.
I suggest you find another place to visit until they things back together again. I am sure if you want to find a guesthouse in Old Town you will have to pay dearly for it or stay out side of the Old Town. Unless you are interested in looking at the wrechage and see how they are rebuilding.
HFCAMPO, I'm not sure if you were responding to me or the OP, but my purpose is to visit old friends and yes, see how they are rebuilding. For the OP, the area is always a nice place to visit but just don't expect to get anything out of Old Town for now.
Picture of Shangril Old Town, about a week ago. Your looking around from the main square where they used to dance and have bbq sellers.

One can't help but wonder about the manner in which 'Old Town', oriented towards tourism, will be rebuilt. Hope for the best - but what would that be?
Ignore the link above. Redid photos with flickr.

Noah cafe was burnt down, but they starting another one close to the old town. Not finished yet.
Previously undeveloped parts of Old Town are being built up quite quickly. Noah cafe was not affected, but the previous Noah Inn was.
