USA Thanksgiving is November 28 this year. I have seen no advertising for dinners like Sandra's at the Irish Pub last year, which was great. Where are they this year? I am sure at some expensive hotels and maybe at Wickerbasket. But where and how much? You can order turkeys at Pauls if you want to make one.
Wicker Basket north has a sign up sheet for a turkey dinner.
Nov 27-30. 5 to 8pm. 75 yuan each.
I noticed the Wicker Basket South has a huge turkey in their freezer, I assume also for thanksgiving (and it looks imported).
Maybe you can try calling O'Reilly's / Slice of Heaven / Cacao's to ask. They usually advertise at the last minute.
I hope somewhere downtown is doing a turkey dinner.
Brother's Jiang...Turkey Mi Xian any one??
Wicker Basket is top of the list. Thanks for posting this reminder.
We are preparing a Thanksgiving dinner at Club vervo in zheng yi fang ( downtown). There will be Turkey and it will be a large three course set menu as per previous Sandra style dinners. Specific details are currently being finalized.
There will be two dinner seatings, the ground floor turning into a restaurant while the second floor will remain a bar as usual where people can relax and have a few drinks until their food is ready.
After all the eating we will have a party with live DJ's.
Anyone know if Wicker Basket South is doing one?
Or how much for Club Vervo dinner?
We are doing a full three course Turkey dinner. Each set comes with a glass of red wine. The turkeys are imported from the U.S. One whole set is 168.
What! I can't believe you western people cannot stop eating this wonderful Chinese food, the best in the history of the entire world, for even one single day. If you really want a western Thanksgiving so bad why don't you just go back to the US and have one, and let the rest of us who know what good food really is enjoy it without knowing that somewhere in Kunming some American is eating turkey and gravy. I'll be having what I basically have everyday with glee, some sort of gaifan dish and a side of spicy deep fried potatoes. I just can't believe that anyone who has eaten doufu cubes on a stick dipped in spicy lajiang sauce would ever, ever want to have a western meal again! Including that ghastly Thanksgiving dinner. Come on! Now where are my yummy wasp larvae...?
