Seems to me there was a thread on this forum about home brew.
Yeah home brew would be nice, my allergies cant handle the preservatives in Chinese beer. I can handle good wines and some good import beers.
The home brew at the bad monkey is great.
Im looking to do IPA's, i can find most of the stuff to brew but cant find a good fermenter thats not over priced.
IPA?
India Pale Ale, very hoppy full flavoured ale. A little bitter but very refreshing, it also travels well. Because it has a full flavour it can be brewed light (low specific gravity (SG), low abv) and is perfect for a session beer or on a hot day. Other beers with a high SG and abv don't really quench a thirst.
Personally, I find the high SG beers make me more thirsty, and don't sit so well on my gut.
Chinese brewery restaurant owner seems like he was just using a home depot barrel? I had the beer, and it's alright. Didn't get sick and tasted ok, but flat. www.gokunming.com/[...]
Be warned though, the brew master isn't always at the restaurant and we had to buy an 150rmb chicken hot pot just to get the right to order beer.
Here is a good listen about home brewing with some excellent links at bottom
Ya i just prefer an actual fermenter, than a DIY one. i've brewed before, just need some help finding the stuff.
TIC expect to pay more for many things that are not mass market. But at least you control the quality.
