We have been here for a few weeks and have looked for a good western place to eat. I understand that if we want US food... to go back to the US right? Every now-and-then I just want a good old hamburger. I love the Chinese food here but it's nice to sit down and enjoy a western meal every once in a while. We have heard about the Irish Pub and checked that out... Wasn't a huge fan of that place (really dirty). We have heard a lot about the Wicker Basket...AWESOME! Not sure the exact address's of all 3 Wicker Baskets, but if you are in need of some good western food I would recommend that! What other good western places have you found?

I like both Oreillys the Irish Pub and Wicker Basket the Christian Hangout.

Oreillys easily has the best burger in Kunming. And yes its a bar/pub, so it's not fine dining, but the food and kitchen is very clean and served on very nice plates and silverware.

The west Wicker Basket is by far the best. The north no longer does the dinner salad bar and the south one is quite far.

North WB has brought back their full menu, or at least they did 2 weeks ago.

As for O'Reilly's:
1. The bacon cheeseburger is by far the best I've had anywhere, and I'm including Canada and the U.S.A. in the list of anywhere.
2. A few weeks ago I tried the steak. Perhaps it was not up to the level of a fine North American steak house, but again, it was the best I've had in Kunming and I would certainly have it again.

North Wicker Basket does have the salad bar, and it's yum!

For me it's a problem that Wicker Basket and Samoana are closed on Sundays. This is when I usually go out for 'western food' So as of yet, I haven't tried either.
