hotel supply store for cheap dairy and other western products?

Hi, I'm new to Kunming. Last year we lived in Haikou, and there was a hotel supply store where we'd get butter, cheese, and other harder to find items. We had to buy in bulk, but would split it up with friends and it was quite reasonable that way, much cheaper than grocery store prices.

Wondering if anyone is doing that here, or if there is a hotel supply that will sell to the public?

My wife and I also lived in Haikou for 3 years and used the 'Western" store about 100 yards up the hill from the RT Mart.

I have had others say try a hotel supply business. Question where are they and what phone number?

On my Ketogenic diet I use lots of Cream, Butter, eggs and moderate meats and vegetables. No grain and no sugar so a small amount of Stevia lasts a year.

Let me know if you find a hotel supply store.

We have a metro card, it's great but not exactly what I'm looking for. :-)

Will let you know if I find one Eric25001, likewise if you find anything, I'll split a huge chunk of butter with you. ;)

There is totally a place like this here in Kunming. I go there at least once a month to buy items in bulk. Sometimes, we split it with others; other times we just keep it. We buy flour in a 20kg sack, sugar in a 35kg bag, mozzarella cheese in 5kg block, butter, cheddar in a 10 or 20kg block, and etc. The prices are much cheaper than Metro, Wal Mart or Carrefour.

This "wholesale market" is on Beijing Rd. If you are at the International Post Office on Beijing Rd, travel away from the First Ring Rd. towards Ren Min Rd. Three hundred meters or less is a road on your right. This road connects Beijing and Chun Chang Rd (old airport rd). Over halfway down this road, you will see a alley type road that goes to an open seafood market on the left. You might smell a fishy smell. Just beyond this, there is two little shops that sell the imported items. Directly across the street from these two stores is a big glass building. I want to say it is a bank, but I'm not sure.

Hope this helps, there are some great items at these stores, and the prices are much better than anyplace else.

Stina

Seems the Italian Sapore is no longer or they do not answer the phone. I read the Box closed but thought the Sapore might still be open.
