Tiger, is there a decathlon in Kunming?
Also M and S even have the end of season sales here in China. Last time i was in Shanghai they were doing buy two get one free, plus many items were under 100RMB.

Urm, Walmart sell clothes in the UK mate. You may know them as ASDA. Same as Tesco does.
I was brought up with M&S and used to hate them, because of brand values. Maggie Thatcher's favourite underwear. But now they are my first choice because the stuff lasts, really lasts. I have had M&S 'T' shirts that have been worn every other day, washed the other day, for over a year. They kept their shape and almost all of the color. Only the collars wore out. Much better than other big names brands, and about the same price. The cheap stuff loses its shape after about 10 washes. No-one wants to go out looking like a sack of spuds, result - disposable shirt.
M&S has always been middle class, middle price, high quality. The press has been running stories of M&S ultimate demise, followed by rises from the ashes stories for 30 years now. M&S is still there, and going strong. With the recession they have actually held their own, when lots of other 'fashion' retailers have disappeared.
There are/were lots of cheaper places (many gone bust), but the cheap clothes don't last anything like as well. They are same quality as the stuff you generally have to accept in Chinese shops.
