The police in my neighborhood don't speak a work of English and my Chinese level is next to zero. Is there a place that has fluent English speakers who officially deal with foreigners cases? There might be a teacher involved in crimes against underage kids.

gokunming admin hates all teaching related threads. whenever there is one they lock, it block it, or tell you that they shut it down becasue it's too old. The same thing doesn't apply for other topics, though.
Probably bad for advertisers or other shannanigans.

What a pitty, kunming could need a blog or thread. Especially with a the new term starting = a wave of new studetns/teachers coming in.
About childabuse, to my knowledge it is not a serious thing in china, depending on the media attention.
If they are kids of his/her fmily the police won't interfere similar with domestic violence cases they say it's a family issue and cops sit back and wait until it escalates and then do a little more of the good old 'nothing'.
Also if there is just a 'might' be a foreigner. The cops would eve do less than nothing. Plus it seems like you are not so sure yourself. What you could do is try to get evidence, photos or so show it to the cops with the help of a translating friend and then at least you did as much as you could, if you don't want to go vigilante.

That is a very serious allegation. What sort of evidence do you have to back it up? I aren't saying its not true, but it sounds like you may have something against a particular person, rather than it being true. Remember that reporting something that is false is also a very serious crime! Most countries do not look favourably on wasting police time/resources. But if you are sure of your facts, I would approach the school, not the police. The school can decide what to do.
And posting on GoKunming seems like the completely wrong way to go about it. In the very least you have most likely just tipped off the potential abuser - not very smart!
@bobbles I agree. To say that so and so is a pedophile is a serious accusation without evidence. That happens in cases of 'rape' where the women says " he raped me" just to get even. Once the genie is out of the bottle, you can't put it back. I suggest you be very careful what you say. If it is in fact true, then the best thing to do is to report it to the police not on GOKUNMING. Let them handle it. If it's true and you do get this piece of shit out of this country and locked away, then you have our thanks. We need to protect the most vulnerable from these predators.
I mostly agree with everyone on this.....But, i don't think any one said sexual abuse. There is a huge difference between smacking a kid upside the head(which I would never do) and sexually abusing children! In fact as horrible as hitting a kid is, I feel it is in a different planet than bad touching a kid.....If you have real proof of him being nasty, Then i feel like you should beat his ass with in an inch of his life! If he hit a kid, maybe a strong talking to....I will add there is also a huge difference In beating a kid and a small smack! Not sure if the police here would do much...but if you are incapable of doing anything about it...you could try?
@bjtokm I believe it was mention by the poster originally to be of a sexual nature. The post got deleted. As for disciplining a child, if you "spare the rod, you spoil the child". I believe in this. However if you work for a school, you can't apply this since it's not your child. This society is losing it's ability to raise children right. More and more children are being spoiled to the point they have no respect for parents, elders, law enforcement or anyone. I thank my parents for using the rod from time to time to keep me in line. I know being a parent is isn't easy and sometimes you have to let the child know who's boss while they live under your roof. Just my two little cents.
I 100% agree with you...My point with hitting kids was directed at a teacher ..... hitting other peoples kids is what i meant...I do believe in punishment for children(by there own parents) If some body else hit my kid, I think i might lose my shit...But if my kid needs it I would do it...One for the reasons Chinese kids are spoiled little bastards. Is because its easier to give the kid an ice cream than a spanking..I suppose that could go for USA kids too, they are spoiled as hell as well!
