QQ (Tencent QQ) is the Chinese MSN. Almost everyone in China has QQ and knows what it is. You can use QQ mail to send e-mails, QQ "music" (can't type in Chinese on this computer, sorry) to listen to and download music...
Honestly, if you are going to live in China, I recommend it (got it after one too many "do you have QQ?" on the net). There is an international version in English if the Chinese interface freaks you out, not sure about the mobile version.
