I'd prefer it as natural and high quality as possible.
Thanks in advance if you can help.

There's also a place on the corner of Ranbu Xiang and Qianju Jie, approximately 150 meters downhill from the intersection of Wenhua Xiang and Wenlin Jie - it's on the opposite corner from the big produce market.
Thanks to the ever helpful zlif23 and firm but fair moderator chris...
There's also a crazy old guy in a Mao suit wandering around Wen Hua Xiang on a Dali basis - you'll know he's the one with the honey because he'll point at you and say, "Hooonneeeeyy..." I've never bought it, but friends have, and they say it's quality. Probably a bit cheaper than the shops as well, where some jars of honey can hit over 150RMB!
you need in big quantity one off or regular supply?
As this is an old post I thought I'd resurrect it. Is this honey chap still around or has he fallen to diabetes? If so, anyone know where I can get quality honey (rather than the fake syrupy stuff in carrefour)? Want to make a mead. Thanks.
The honey shop that Chris above suggests is still there. Walk South from Salvadors about 150m, on the opposite corner from the produce market. They also sell Vietnamese bread rolls out the front, not bad when they are fresh! Walk another 30m down that road and you can get one of the best chicken soups in Kunming!
Many local honey sellers with all different forms of honey at the big farmers markets every Wednesday just 100m fro the SiaJiaYing subway stop. Very cheap too.
Yunnan Agricultural University - north of the city near Heilongtan - sells various types of honey and honey wine and, apparently, has its own Bee science department.
