bachelor of IT is not enough. you need to collect body parts from graveyards, sew them together, bring the body back to life (without lightning!) and ONLY THEN are you good to figure out the machinations of the great firewall.
Magnifico, I agree. IT types have to also perfect their barking at the moon skills.
Things seem to be back to normal this morning.
Got a message last night from ExpressVPN saying their techs had worked basically non-stop for the last few days coming up with a repair to chinese connection problem. Recommended we go to normal setting and should have no further problems. I just think all the little gremlins were done working for the weekend and probably we will deal with same problems when they come back to work on Monday. It does however make me feel just a little better to hear IT types also having some problems.
are you kidding? IT types have LOADS of problems. while the average in the general population is 1 in 4, 1 in 3 IT types smack their wives around. can't handle the stress and humiliation of being perpetually outwitted by the firewall people.
A little off topic, but has anyone else been struggling with Yahoo email for the last few days too (not through a VPN)? Not able to download attachments, for example?
StrongVPN issued a blog post with some work arounds for the recent port blocking. In short, use a nonstandard port for your VPN and you should be OK.
Yes. Yahoo has been acting shitty.
It doesn't help those trying to resolve the situation if individuals on here post detailed advice in an open forum. Simply dumb!

Agree. Advertising certain routes may not be helpful.
BTW, there was something (ref my Dec 8 second post) in the last couple of days
