Dog Friendly Kunming

I'm surprised that no one has brought this up, but how Kunming reacts to your dog depends a lot on the size and breed of your dog. I live near Green Lake and have a Belgian Mallanois, which is about 25 kg and looks like a small German Shepard. He is a service dog and extremely well behaved, which is why I was totally unprepared for how people react to him. Women literally have SCREAMED and jumped out of the way when I walk him (scares the crap out of the poor dog). I've seen people get ready to hit him, just "in case" he did something.

But if you have a little, tiny dog or a big, fluffy Samoyed, you'll be fine. The Chinese apparently fine certain breeds very threatening.

Anything that looks like a German Shepherd will frighten them. These are the dogs that are generally used for security in China. They are not bred as house dogs here. Perhaps a reason not to buy a Shepherd in China.
Most dogs eaten are of specific breeds, and dog meat is not high value compared to breed dogs. Additionally, any pedigree/pure breed dog that is already trained, house trained etc, will be highly saleable.

You can get the chip done at the Kunming dog registration office but the blood test needs to be sent to a EU approved lab, none in China.

Look for more information on the French government website.

Its on the Long Xiang Jie leading down from Wenlinjie away from the Cinema. Its almost at the end of the road on the left hand side, just before the covered car parking.

25.050188,102.693635 put that into Google Maps.
