I'm looking for an affordable gym, someplace that's ok with a monthly payment. It must have a squat rack. I mean a real squat rack, not the stupid smiths machines.. Preferably in western Kunming.

The only 'real' gyms I have seen are next to the stadium on DongFengDong Lu, but that is in the east.

Why would I need to speak Chinese? I don't really need a trainer.. All I need is a squat rack and a bench :D

You would need Chinese language to tell them what you want and to negotiate membership.

has a squat rack, some benches and enough weights to go around. You need to speak Chinese to get signed up, but a lot of foreigners go there so you could probably find someone to help you. When I signed up it was 550 RMB for a year or 350 (maybe 300 if you really push them) for six months; unfortunately the prices seem to change daily.
