Strange coincidence. Just this morning I was thinking of adding ginger tea to my diet and I was wondering if I could mix it with green tea. And you have a green tea and ginger concoction on your blog. Cool. Keep 'em coming!

I looked for margarine for a long time. The only one I found was in Metro but as you say, it has dairy.

I ended up buying it on Taobao. A Dutch brand.

Cheers

I have met lots of people who did not get enough saturated fat. Mineral deficincies and hormone issues, and all that go with them. Aging men will particularly benefit from saturated fats and cholesterol, as long as they have plenty of other kinds of good fats, veggies, and exercise. Agreed that butter is usually overprocessed, but here in Kunming we have access to lots of raw organic goat dairy. As a former long time vegan, my health really improved when I added animal products, and I was never one of those junk food vegans. But, different strokes for different folks, I have 1 friend who seems quite healthy and has has been vegan for 15 years, so its about a personal choice I think.

Butter rocks! Did you hear there was a butter shortage recently in Sweden because so many people are now convinced that butter is good for you compared to margarine or low-fat products. Personally I agree as I've been tucking in to butter and lard (sold in most Kunming wet markets) and ditched all oils except for olive oil for the last two years and seen the incredible health benefits for myself. Check out The Food Revolution video on this site (you may need a vpn). Certainly gives food for thought!

Well different things work for different people. Just from my experience i have become much healthier and happier after taking animal products out. I even originally did it to improve my health. I am suprised you found people that did not get enough saturated fat. So many things have it now it seems amazing for that to happen.

@ Marco polo. That sounds very interesting and very possibly true. I am glad you have found something that works for you but becareful to exercise a lot if you are consuming a ton of fat (not because of weight gain but artery blockage)

jonny9 you really do have a point when you say different things work for different people. One thing that might be healthy for one person may be toxic to another. It is always good to remember that. :).

i read a book called "eat right for your blood type" many years ago. according to his theory, some blood types (ie type O) need meat and other types (ie type AB, i think) should limit their consumption of meat.

there might be something to blood type or other genetic factors that dictate what diet is best for every person.
