Just for the record:
It was a China Eastern flight and so, yes we were delayed by a day going, and then by 2 extra hours each way.
I WAS able to get a Visa on Arrival (OK for Brits and some other nations, but not for Chinese) with a little baksheesh to grease the process.
It was indeed a demanding country to visit, not helped by being there in the rainy season (flooding & cancelled travel), Ramadan (fasting, so few restaurants open) and illness (my wife and I had toliet/vomitting problems most of the time). BUT, the people are without doubt the friendliest and helpful I've ever encountered. Sure, some were "helpful" in the hope of a tip, but many more were just plain friendly, no strings attached. That'll be my main memory.
I was supposing I could get a charge on appearance at Manchester international terminal in Dhaka, but on contacting the Bangladesh Embassy in China these days they were quite insistent that I required to implement in composing through them. They were difficult about the choice of getting a getting allow on appearance. My ticket is currently being prepared for the new China perform charge, so I do not have enough time to implement through China. Can anyone validate that charge on appearance is still occurring in Dhaka?
"Visa on Arrival" is operating in Dhaka's Shahjalal International Airport for certain nationalities ($51), but not for Chinese nationals. What passport do you hold? As for "Manchester International Terminal"...???
