Most of the missionary families that live in the north (BeiChen area) have homeschooled kids.

Hey Danmairen, we are just home schooling until next fall and then the oldest two will go to public school. We want them to learn Chinese first.

Good on you, although that of course also comes with its own set of issues. You can hire a Chinese teacher relatively cheap. There are plenty of graduates from the CSL lines around looking for jobs who I think would come over 6 days a week for something like 300-350 US $ a month. Be aware of Wendy Dengs though.

I live in the states and found this site/forum while doing research- my oldest child and I will be visiting Yunnan this summer.
