Sal's has big bottles of unflavored active culture yogurt for sale. I believe it's made using uncertified organic milk from cows in the countryside near Dali. I've used it as a starter before and it worked fine.

Thanks Dan
Since my original post, almost 2 years ago, live yog is available in most supermarkets and convenience stores.
not all of them work for me. I've tried those from local convenience stores and carrefour/walmart/metro but they still give me an upset stomach.
Someone gave me a live yoghurt starter today. All you have to do is put this yoghurt in a liter of milk, sit it on the counter overnight, and the next day you have yoghurt. Once I made a liter tonight, I would be willing to give someone some yoghurt so you can make your own yoghurt.
My yoghurt usually just... sits there... in the fridge... inactive...
I am now making my own yogurt and will start a new thread, not to hijack this one.
@seahorse62 do you know which brand did they use for starter?
