Hello everyone,
I'm thinking of joining the Chinese Language Program at Kunming University of Science and Technology this coming school year.
Anyone out there has done it or knows anything about it?
Cheers,
Steve

I've had classes at their north campus near Yueyatan park. I took intermediate level classes and enjoyed them. The classrooms aren't the best for winter, but most classrooms in Kunming aren't too warm in the winter.
Hey Ouyang, thanks for the post. I'm happy to talk to someone who has actually done the course. Were you happy with the teachers overall? Did you think they were well-qualified and serious?
I think I've heard of this north campus. But as a beginner, I think I'll probably be sent to their mains campus, don't you think?
And I'll make sure I bring gloves to the classroom when winter starts :)
Talk soon,
Stephen
Over all I was happy with the teachers, and they took their job seriously. Textbooks were so-so, but they're flexible.
I'm fairly sure you can pick whichever campus you want. Last I checked they had the old main campus near downtown, one in the east, and one in the north. Though I'm not quite sure how easy it is to change campuses once you've registered at one.
My advice is pick which area of Kunming you want to live at, and then pick the campus. In terms of teaching quality at public schools they all seem to be about the same, mainly depends on what teacher you get. As for private schools I've heard good things about the small classes at Keats from several people, but I've never personally taken classes there.
How much does it cost per semester to study there?
I don't remember exactly, but around 3,800 RMB seems right.
Do you remember how you applied? Their website isn't very clear
