I'd like to trade for a while for any other classic movies or books. I live in Wen Lin Jie.

Failing that, I know there's loads of DVD shops in Kunming but they all seem to sell rubbbish......

Is there anywhere I can get decent classic movies here?

I'm looking for Kubrick/Nicholson/De Niro/Pacino and anything else interesting I haven't seen....

There're several good AV shops in the city:

A shop without name opposite to Yunnan Normal University on 121 st. (non-mainstream music <electronica and hard rock> and classic movies)

A shop on the corner of Shangyi (尚义) St.

Some chain AV shops such as Music Heaven and Four Star AV

There's a shop with a good if quirky selection of foreign films on Dong Si Jie (东寺街), south of Jin Ma Bi Guangchang (where the Hump hostel is). It's just North of the two brick pagoda. They had Alain Delon's 'Le Samourai' (later remade as 'Ronin')
