Does anyone here know of the train schedule for the Kunming to hekou (vietnam) train?

there is no train. services stopped several years back. buses to Hekou go from the east bus station: www.gokunming.com/en/listings/item/eas_32370/east_bus_station

there are train services on the Vietnamese side (Lao Cai) should you wish to head into Vietnam.

Heard the train service is from Naning city not from Yunnan.

yup, there's a Hanoi <=> Nanning train. the border crossing process is a bit mafan. Kunming to Nanning trains take around 12 hours.

hedgepig is right. I usually take the 8 hrs coach ride from East station cross the border at hekou on foot and connect train from lao cai to Hanoi. Apparently the kunming to hanoi train line is under construction but no clue on completion date.

I suppose there is no train route from Vietnam to Kunning or vice versa. The railway was built in 1990, it was closed and stopped working due to its damage. In the last trip, it takes 8 hours for me to depart from hanoi to laocai. Then i must take bus from Ha khau bus station to kunming. You can pick up the same route as me . I usually look up the train at this website www.vietnamrailways.com .Good luck my friend

The new line is under construction now . It supposes it will connect kunming to Singapore and will pass Vietnam.
