If I see one more I want to learn Spanish thread, I am going to freak out. If you want to learn Spanish, why would you come to Kunming or look for someone in Kunming to teach you Spanish. WTF!!!

That's like saying, I want to learn Chinese in Medellin, Colombia or Hamilton, Bermuda.

If you want to learn Spanish, head to South America. Everyone there speaks it, with the exception of Brazil, and I am sure there are plenty of schools there that teach it.

...or Spain maybe?! but seriously... what's wrong with learning a language outside the country of origin? it's common for people to learn japanese in america or chinese in the UK for example.

it's ok as a hobby on the side, but obviously it makes more sense to go to a country where that language is actually used, otherwise you won't make much progress.

Gaoxing, not everyone has the money to go to another country to learn a language. True, the best way to learn is to be in the country that speaks the language so you can immerse yourself. It's pretty expensive if you are not rich and spoiled. Kunming doesn't pay you enough for the luxury to save much less travel.
