Dang - that was long winded.

A good friend once related a story about his tour of duty in South Korea. He once asked an old Korean man that he knew quite well (at the peak of a patriotic anti-american sentiment period in South Korea) how he felt about having American GIs stationed on Korean soil.

The old man enthusiastically replied, "It's GREAT!"

My friend, flabbergasted at the unexpected response blurted, "Why?"

To wit, the old Korean gentleman responded, "American GI's marry ugly korean girls!"
