Hi,
My china travel visa is only for 1 entry into china...so does that mean it's impossible for me to travel to thailand? I have 2 months left in Kunming and would like to spend a week or so in Thailand. I need to come back to China for my flight back to Canada.
Any help very much appreciated!
are you returning to china for any reason other than to catch
your flight? if not, you'll probably be ok flying into kunming
to catch your connecting flight on the same day. "shouldn't"
need a visa if you're not leaving the restricted area of the
airport. you'll find more information regarding this on the
lonely planet forum.
Hi no_way,
I already have a plane ticket for my way home... and it's from beijing to canada. I see what you're saying..I can go to thailand..and then fly to Beijing for my flight back home...it's a good idea but it's too risky for me..with delays in airports......any other ideas?

it seems 'sometimes' travelers transiting through beijing airport and
staying less than 24 hours are allowed to leave the airport to go
into the city once they get a stopover pass from immigration.
(see above references)
so you could book your flight into bj the day before. if late or
canceled you take next day's flight. if arrive on time can maybe
sight-see.
if you take the 'stopover pass' option, please post your experiences
here and maybe on lonelyplanet
