Kunming is the most depressing looking place I have ever lived at in my entire life.

Here are the reasons why:
There is no "creativity" in this city. Everything looks the same.

Most of the apartments around here are slums.

Food sanitation standards are non-existant.

The service at restaurants, even foreigner owned, sucks.
There are too many people around here. I don't like dealing with crowds and hoards of people everywhere.
This city is too noisy and polluted. Yes, this place is polluted. It is not as bad as Beijing, but I can tell the air is not clean.

There is nothing to do here.
The people here are not friendly, including foreigners.

People can't drive here in Kunming or pretty much all of Asia.

There is no such thing as defense driving or courteous driving.

A lot of these Chinese people around here are very sneaky.
The food sucks around here. It tastes like crap and it doesn't fill me up.

I wish I never came to this place. The only thing I like is the fact that pretty much everything is cheap.

I won't do the same way like other people who start with attacking you .I won't even pretend to be wise old man but hope you listen to me .Any place in the world consists of people and other factors of environment .I do understand how much depress when you come along distance to find other people around might not friendly for a reason or another,and i do understand like we were in schools before if we hate teachers we hate subjects as well .I met such situations with people even from my country because i do not share them the believe of powerful mighty God called Jesus Christ !" as they believe" i just believe he is human being like me and you that make them never hang out with me or even invited me to any meeting to our people in this city even we are very little .What i lost nothing still there are people around who could welcome you if you start to be friendly and ignore who not interested .

International flights take off from Kunming Airport daily. No one is stopping you if you want to leave mate. On a second note I think all foreigners feel like you do you from time to time but the bottom line is that Yunnan isn't a bad place to spend a couple of years.
