anyone know a decent place to camp around kunming? or within about an hour from town? preferably somewhere that doesn't have a view of the city...we'd like to get out of the city a bit. thanks!

I was said Changhu(long lake) near the stone forest is a nice place for camping.

I went yu'an'shan,west on the map,next to the countryside park&Bamboo Temple last last friday, crazy trip, we almost walked about 20+kilometres. so many twists on the mountain and so many trees.we didn't get into the countryside park because when we down the mountain it had been closed,we are so so sooooo tired.

Reviving this thread. Any other suggestions of good places to go camping? Looking for a place to go for 1-2 nights so it can be a little farther away.

We are in the process of making a mountain top camping site with fu xian lake view . Small cabins will also be available.
Tenting and cabins secluded from each other.
Direct country/farm road to mountain top without going to chengjiang.1 hr +- by car.

Did you ever move forward with the camping idea near Fuxian lake? if so, I would love to come check it out.

I moved all my activities in the Dali and Lijiang area backcountry..

Fu Xian lake area is corrupt AF.
