I agree with HFCAMPO. I've been here 9 years and have never regretted it. I think it's a good place for older folks 30+ not so much for the young bucks. As HFCAMPO mentioned the visa thing is the BIGGEST problem. As another poster mentioned, be careful with wolves dress in sheep's clothing.
@Liumingke1234. You don't hang around the young then. Most are have a great time exploring a new culture and language, and getting to party at the Mask, then heading back to their home countries for their Masters and careers.
I want to simplify my life. No land to manage, no animals, no motor vehicles. enroll in language school, make friends, explore Kunming, go visit the pandas in Chengu and much much more

I was talking about long term. Yeah I know the young bucks like to 'hang out', get drunk, get laid, etc. The older crowd what stability, peace and quiet, simplicity. We don't want drama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I learned about Kunming from an America business man. He keeps an apartment in Kunming. He informed me of the ideal weather, beautiful flowers and emailed me many photos. I have The "underground" weather forecast for Kunming on my computer. Also my QQ friends verify. Here the winters are bitter cold and the summers are hot with high winds almost daily
Yeah, I chose Kunming for the climate and blue skies, so no worries there. Enjoy your time here, and if for any reason Kunming doesn't suit you, Yunnan is a huge province and China is a big country.
@alexKMG you made me laugh. When we are young life is a beach. Women were a game. Now I have matured have more respect for people
Just one caveat. The older fellows that do well in China, all have China spouses. Many tend to forget to mention that.
@AlexKMG. I have done quite a bit of research on other parts of China. I also have QQ friends in Liaoning, Dalian and Harbin. I do not like their weather. Wuhan is too hot with dirty air, Beijing is too cold in the winter and Shenzhen is hot and humid. Kunming is not a huge mega city and I am told there is no dirty industry
