on google maps it says 11 furniture, or 十一家具 。

If you're anywhere around dianchi - try to ask the taxi driver to wait and negotiate his waiting time. Alternatively - remember (or program the phone number) of the taxi company - it's on EVERY taxi's dashboard. When you're ready to leave - call them (or have a store attendant call) and ask them to send a taxi to wherever you are - it's more expensive - but at least it's dedicated to you...in theory.

As a backup - walk over to the bus stop and ask the next bus driver (bus stations are ubiquitous) how to get back to wherever you live - he'll at least give you the next line number and the next stop (hopefully) - bearing in mind bus drivers aren't the brightest bulbs on the planet. You can catch a bus back to at least the second ring road (er huan lu) or one of the major streets and then grab a cab from there.

The 11 Furniture in the north closed down last month, does anyone know if the one in the south and the one near Xiao Xi Men are still open?

The one just off Guangfu lu was open a month ago when I was there and yesterday (04/13/2014) I was at the Xiao Xi Men store-still operating.
