I did a search for this, but I didn't find what I was looking for.
I'm very interested in finding a Chinese Medicine practitioner who does Tui-na/acupuncture. I have trouble with my neck and back, and I've been told I need to be straightened out.
Has anyone out there had a good experience with someone? They don't need to speak much English, but I'm hoping for someone who really cares about their patients. There's a reserved clinical feeling I get from a lot of Chinese health practitioners that's a little off-putting.
Thanks in advance
Greeting; your posting was forwarded to me. My name is Gordon. I graduated from a private TCM College in Victoria BC Canada in 1995. I set up a private practice in Whistler BC from 1995-2001. During 1998-2001 I was a private consultant for the Private Post Secondary Commision as the in house expert on TCM. This is a provincal commision (board) that all private schools had to go throught to be an acredited school. In 2001 I moved to Nelson BC where I again set up shop and was an instructor at the Accedemy of Oriental Sciences. I am currently in Kunming, if you would like to contact me about your heath issues please contact me at- gordianknot 818@yahoo.com or my log in name/user name at go kunming is touchstone tcm.
My thanks for taking the time to read this and Look forward to perhaps meeting you

Wow, a posting and a response all on the same day. Marvelous.
Just call me cynical but it's got a faint whiff of desperate advertising about it,...,...
to SIR NOBLE; interesting response, a faint whiff of desperate advertising- to bad you have no idea who i am, so what a response the same day- as i said- the original message was forwarded to me by someone that i have seen in dealing with their health, which means i produced results- you see i have only been in kunming for 2 weeks and have not advertised my services. you're right you are cynical & are very very wrong in assuming that it is a desperate bid for advertising- to assist in someones healing is both an honour and a privlage. you obviously have never been in a situation dealing with chronic pain, so you have no idea what you are talking about. it sounds like you are the type of person that it would be a waste of time seeing someone such as myself, to bad. SIR NOBLE; may you always be in the best of health, be happy- sounds like you need it. is this how you spend your time making such postings. if i have learned anything it is to be of good cheer and help others if and when they ask for help. oh yea- in all the years that i was in private practice it was only in the first six months that i spent any money in advertising- word of mouth is the best form - you produce results folks refer you.
i and many others have had to deal with your type before for a number of years- fighting with the provincial and federal governments and the western medical system for years trying to get TCM recognized and accepted as a fiable form of health care. Our passion and believe that TCM can and does help has come at a great price, people have had heart attacks, lost their careers, families broken apart in fighting various levels of cynics and those doing nothing more then protecting the established legal medical system (note the term medical not health care). After a 30 year battle finally in 2001 TCM was granted legal status in my home province in Canada. Your ignorance is disappointing.
My post should not be seen or deliberately misinterpreted as an ignorant attack on TCM or the practice of TCM.
Just for the record, as a younger man I was unfortunate to have suffered from a trapped nerve in my back and very much understand chronic pain and the need for professional care. I've also made use of TCM on various occasions both here and in the UK where regulated and proven TCM is practiced and used in support of what is incorrectly termed 'western medicine'. More recently I've had cause to attend Kunming TCM hospital seeking a solution to a very bad chest infection whereupon I received and appreciated a caring professional response from one of the many doctors practicing there.
My (retrospectively blunt) posting was intended to protect the integrity of gokunming which supplies a valuable service to various sections of the community here in this great city. There are times when people, including happy, normal people like me, seek information and advice. Genuine advice based on the experience of others is invaluable, especially so if someone is desperately seeking help for medical emergencies.
GoKunming's service to the community needs to be cherished and protected. There has to be a commercial aspect to this website to finance the 'free' service it provides. One side depends on the other.
It can be frustrating, even for happy caring people, trawling through postings that sometimes cross the boundary between a genuine much valued response to a genuine query and one which is purely opportunistic and sometimes blatant misuse of the forum.
My apologies for causing you upset and I had no wish to provoke an angry personal attack on myself. I value gokunming, I value and respect TCM and the professional practice of TCM. The occasional bout of cynicism can often be undervalued too.
